Q: ‘What would happen if my child was ill whilst they attended the Covey?’
A: If you child becomes ill whilst in attendance, we will monitor
them and phone you to keep you informed. If your child does not seem to get any better, we will ask you to come and collect
them
Q: ‘What would happen if I was late picking up my child?’
A: The Covey closes at 6pm. If you are unable to get to us by
6pm, we would expect a phone call as soon as you are able to let us know you will be late. If picking up your child late becomes
a regular occurrence, you will be expected to pay a £10 charge to the member of staff who has stayed with your child.
Q: ‘How often do the children go outside?’
A: The children go outside on a daily basis, even if the weather
is poor. As well as playing in the garden, the children are taken on walks, to the local park/field and to the local
shops.
Q: ‘Can my child attend the pre-school if they are not potty trained?’
A: Yes, we do accept children into the pre-school who are not
potty trained. If you would like us to help with the potty training, please let us know.
Q: ‘How many staff are qualified and what are their qualifications?’
A: The Covey has 14 Qualified Staff. Nine are qualified to
Level 3, four have Level 2 qualifications, 1 Childminding and two staff are currently undertaking their Level
2.
Q: ‘How many children can you take at one time?’
A: The Covey Nursery can accommodate 30 children at a time and
the Covey
Pre-school can take 26 children at one time.
Q: ‘Where do the children sleep?’
A: If the child is under two, they will sleep in a cot in the
Baby Area. If the child is over 2, he or she will sleep on a sleep mat in an allocated sleeping area in the Nursery. There
is also a quiet area in the Pre-school, where the children are able to lie down.
Q: ‘What happens if someone else needs to pick up my child?’
A: At the Covey we have a password system. When you enrol your
child we will ask you for a password. If someone else needs to pick up your child, they will be asked for your password and
if they don’t have the password, we will ring you to double check that the person picking up is genuine.
Q: ‘Will I be charged if my child does not attend the Covey due to illness or holiday?’
A: Yes, unfortunately you will be charged, due to staff being
contracted to work in accordance to child ratios.
